CarMax Statement on Inglewood, CA Incident, March 24

We are profoundly shocked and heartbroken by the horrific act that occurred on Saturday, March 8, at our Inglewood, California store, when an individual drove through the showroom, injuring one CarMax employee and several customers. The CarMax employee was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released. Several customers were also injured during the incident and went to the hospital for treatment. We are following police reports to stay apprised of updates as information becomes publicly available. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted and we are thankful for local law enforcement’s swift response and arrest of the individual responsible. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the broader Inglewood community for their outpouring of support during this awful event. 

As this is both an active investigation and a legal matter, we cannot provide any additional details or perspective regarding the incident. However, we are fully cooperating with the authorities as they actively investigate the incident and the varying accounts of what occurred. We continue to direct all inquiries to the appropriate authorities.
