CARMAX FOUNDATION AWARDS $5,000 GRANT TO RESTON CHILDREN'S CENTER

RICHMOND, Va. (June 26, 2008)-CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, announced today that the CarMax Foundation has awarded Reston Children’s Center a $5,000 grant as part of the Foundation’s new Regional Giving Program.

Reston Children’s Center received the grant for playground equipment improvements, which will provide an age-appropriate play area for infants and toddlers. Reston Children’s Center is a nonprofit center dedicated to promoting innovative learning, creativity, healthy motor and social skills, and a sense of self-esteem for children while providing a support system for their families.

“The CarMax Foundation is thrilled to provide a grant to support the Reston Children’s Center,” said Tim Dillistin, Mid-Atlantic Regional Giving Committee chairperson and CarMax purchasing manager in Dulles. “The Regional Giving Program Committees are proud to work with organizations that are committed to providing innovative educational experiences.”

The CarMax Foundation’s Regional Giving Program reinforces CarMax's commitment to funding programs that improve the communities where our associates live and work. The Program will provide grants to qualifying nonprofit organizations that have initiatives focused on education and youth leadership.

Each of CarMax’s seven regions will grant up to $100,000 annually to organizations in their local area, totaling $700,000 nationwide, which will directly benefit local communities each year. CarMax associates working within each of the regions select the local organizations to recommend for grants.
