Purpose and Mission
As part of its mission, CarMax is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and good neighbor. The CarMax Foundation was established in 2003 to provide a means for CarMax’s charitable contributions. Since establishing the CarMax Foundation in 2003, nonprofit organizations have been awarded more than $5 million to help the communities where our Associates live and work. The Foundation seeks to promote automobile passenger safety and improve the communities in which our Associates live and work. The Foundation is committed to:

Habitat for Humanity In 2007, CarMax held its annual leadership conference in the hurricane-damaged city of New Orleans. Store managers from all business areas, as well as Home Office Associates at the director-level and above, contributed to Habitat for Humanity’s ongoing recovery efforts in the following ways:
